MDSL has completed the full M&E packages for the 30,000 sqm Caerphilly District General Hospital located in South Wales.
MDSL's work included; custom designed 2-D and 3-D modules incorporating a wide range of services, including ventilation ductwork, heating, cooling and domestic water pipe work, electrical containment, sprinkler systems, medical gases and rainwater. Services are tested and insulated at works before despatch.
The modules werre produced in a variety of sizes to suit site conditions with the frames incorporating wheels for ease of handling both in the factory and on site. Riser modules incorporating all the services in the horizontal modules are designed and produced in sizes and lengths to suit the needs of individual sites.

This process ensures the offsite-fabricated services are coordinated with the traditional services to which they connect within the remainder of the building. The method of delivery and introduction of the offsite-fabricated product into the building forms an integral part of these early discussions.

Modules were produced in a variety of sizes to suit site conditions with the frames incorporating wheels for ease of handling both at our facility and on site. The extremely tight programme, meant offsite manufacturing techniques for the corridor modules was essential.
Offsite fabrication provides a high quality completed product that can be programmed to achieve a critical delivery milestone within the building construction process. The offsite process is not weather dependent and utilises production techniques that are significantly faster than traditional on site methods. The reduced site installation times also permit shorter program periods to be achieved.

This Santander data centre in Leicester was largest in the UK at the time of construction. The project, consisting of two buildings constructed in parallel with six halls in each had an extremely tight programme and without off site manufacturing the handover deadline would not have been achieved.
All aspects of the M&E were prefabricated at our facility and at the time, this project had the largest variations of products off sited on a single site. All products were manufactured from tru-bore thin walled stainless steel tube.

MDSL delivered the packaged plant rooms for the new education centre at the Houses of Parliament in Westminster. The extremely tight programme meant that the use of offsite manufacturing techniques for the plant rooms would be of benefit.
Works involved the design of a plant room capable of satisfying the needs of both the customer and the end user. Due to the nature of the project the plant rooms needed to be of the highest quality finish.
